So, If you’re a parent who had braces when you were a child, don’t expect anything to be like it was in the good ole’ days as our technology has advanced by light years. The wires consist of an amazingly flexible and super light metal alloy that has shape memory. The wires are easily bent and deformed as they enter a brace on a crooked tooth allowing for maximum patient comfort but they quickly rebound back to their original ideal shape, effortlessly guiding the teeth into a straight position. Since the wires are designed to exert only a minimalistic force that is compatible with biology, the entire process is safe, easy and fun. We have a series of wires that we change at selected visits and the process is so fast, many patients can even tell we changed the wire! The technology is that good.
